I am Amanda Terry, founder and owner of An Organised You and a busy mum of two with over 25 years’ experience assisting busy people with their organising needs and projects.
I have a friendly, approachable style and am passionate about decluttering and organising and its benefits to improve our wellbeing and mental health as well as our time management and productivity.
I work with clients of all ages with Decluttering and Life Organising (Swedish death cleaning process - a small area or a whole house!) which I really enjoy as I believe that being an organised you now will help avoid leaving overwhelm to your loved ones ensuring they don't inherit decisions that you found hard to make.
My experience has shown that investing time to put in simple systems and routines and create new habits can help you create calm and order in your life and home and can enable you to have more time and space in your life to do the things you love to do.
I feel fortunate to have been working in the organising industry for a number of years and so have gained invaluable experience working with a variety of lovely clients……. retired people, professional entrepreneurs, medics and business executives, busy parents as well as confidentially supporting clients who are experiencing mental health challenges such as depression, OCD, anxiety or hoarding disorder at Level I or Level II or organising and productivity challenges of ADHD.
As well as professional qualifications and experience gained in my earlier business organising career (prior to having my children, I worked for a leading management consultancy specialising in LEAN and Six Sigma improvement methodologies and also in project management/marketing/executive assistance to CEO’s) I have been professionally trained by the Institute For Challenging Disorganization (ICD) and hold their certificates in:
Study in Time Management & Productivity.
Study in Chronic Disorganisation.
Study in Health Issues & Conditions affecting Chronic Disorganisation.
- Study in ADHD.
Study in Understanding Hoarding Disorder.
I am also:
accredited and a registered recommended member of the Association of Professional Organisers and Declutterers (APDO), the leading professional organisation in the UK for Professional Organising and Decluttering and I also follow the APDO Code of Ethics.
a member of the Institute for Challenging Disorganization.
a member of the Academy of Virtual Organisers.
am fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity.
am registered with the Information Commissioners Officer as required by the Data Protection Act 1998.
hold a Waste Carrier Licence.
In my spare time I love music, running, the countryside, interiors and of course organising (we all benefit from continuous improvement!) and am slave to Belle & Saphir, our demanding family cats! For many years I have been trusted to provide professional support, advice and help to others with their organising needs.
Sometimes we all just need an extra pair of hands we can put our trust in to confidentially and discretely to help us and that's where I can help you become An organised you, maintain it for your wellbeing and avoid you leaving the overwhelm to those you love.
